Til Debt Do Us Part: Home Edition

Let me just say that I'm loving HGTV's new Til Debt Do Us Part Home Edition!  I'd loved the original show and Princess, so I was thrilled when the show premiered a few weeks ago.

Thank gosh though that this show wasn't on before I purchased my condo.  Despite having $17,500 for a downpayment and approximately another $10,000 for closing costs, a few repairs, renos, and furniture I don't think that I could have pulled the trigger if this show was around then.

It has for me though stressed the importance of having an emergency fund, so before next month I'm going to sit down and see if I can contribute more than the standard $400/month I've been doing to get it up to my ideal amount of $10,000.

Have you watched Gail's new show?  If so, what do you think so far?

  1. Yes, another great show from Gail! My only complaint is that its on at the same time as The Biggest Loser. I regularly watch very few shows and its frustrating when they overlap each other.

  2. I'm not sure if you have Rogers or what - but you can On Demand Biggest Loser and watch it later in the week. (Comes as part of the package I have with Rogers and it's free for me!)

I love this new stuff by Gail. I've noticed though that since Slice isn't airing it, House Poor is taking it's place - and they've copied the script from her shows but it's delivered by someone that just doesn't fit the script at all.

    You just can't replace Gail!!

  4. Jessie - They're on HGTV's website...the first 6 episodes in fact are all up there!

    I'd definitely recommend it.

  6. I cancelled my cable awhile ago and this is one show that I wish I could watch still. It gives me inspiration because I never want to be like the people on the show. Just like watching the biggest loser makes me want to work out, these shows make me want to get financially fit.
